Do you have questions? Ask WS

How to improve English quickly?

The simple answer is to be in regular contact with English in the same way that you are exposed to Vietnamese every day. The reason we can speak our mother language well is that we have a lot of exposure in the environment of that language every day. Therefore, the learning environment is very important.

At WS ENGLISH, you can find such an English environment. You will be listening, speaking, reading, writing, pronunciation, practicing grammar freely and continuously as if you are immersed in the English language. Give yourself and your children more time to interact with English. They will improve very quickly.

What is an effective way to learn English?

You’ve probably heard of the Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing statement, haven’t you? Why is it arranged in such a way? Why not Speaking, Writing, Reading, Listening? Everything has its reasons. For example, when children start learning Vietnamese, can they start by speaking right away? Of course not. Instead, they will hear their grandparents, parents, brothers, and sisters speak Vietnamese regularly, and every day with them. After listening to Vietnamese for a few years, the child will start babbling. Remember, at this point, the child can not speak Vietnamese fluently. He or she still needs a lot of time. So we cannot urge him to speak English right away but give him time. It is also clear why Listening must go before Talking.

Can a baby start writing right away? Of course not. Children need to learn to Read first and look at the letters available or written by their teachers. Then they can practice writing slowly. This also means that you have to study Reading first and then Write.

At WS, we always create the best English environment and the most appropriate way to teach children to develop quickly and comprehensively. Give your children time and then they will be able to communicate in English fluently. We need a lot of time to learn Vietnamese to be able to communicate well in Vietnamese, so give yourself and your children plenty of time to be exposed to English like that to be good at English.

Why have you been studying English for so many years and still aren't so good and confident in communication?

There are many reasons for this. There are 2 main reasons. One is that you don’t give yourself or your children enough time to interact with English. And two, you learn the wrong way.

First of all, related to the first reason, not spending enough time with English. It may be because you are busy at work. The kids are busy studying other subjects too. So the time spent in English is too little, leading to knowing something the day before and forgetting it the next day. That leads you to nowhere. For example, when you study English at a certain center, and you study twice a week with two hours per lesson. You never review lessons or learn more English at home. That means you only learn English for 4 hours per week. There are 52 weeks in a year, but two of them are for the New Year holidays, that’s 50 weeks left. You study 4 hours a week, 50 weeks a year, you learn 4 hours x 50 = 200 hours. A day has 24 hours, which means the total time you study is equivalent to 200/24 = 8 days. That means you only learn English for 8 days per year. No one in this world can learn anything and become proficient and professional in just 8 days. Think about how long it takes you to learn and master Vietnamese? So why do you think you only need to study English 8 days a year to be good at it?

Next, let’s talk about the second cause, that is, you learn the wrong way. Many students study very hard, day and night, but still not good at English. Why is that? The answer is that you learn the wrong way completely. Many new students have asked to learn to speak immediately and said that they do not need to learn Listening because it is too difficult and boring. But if you have never heard English before, how can you speak English? Many people do not practice Listening but jump into Speaking immediately, which leads to speaking English but sounds like Vietnamese. Or many just dive into grammar. This is absolutely the wrong way to learn. Remember when you first learned Vietnamese, did you start by learning Vietnamese Grammar? Of course not. Instead, you listen to Vietnamese first. Then you babble and talk. Next, you learn to read, then write. Finally, you study Grammar to write literature more professionally. So when you learn the reverse way, starting from studying grammar without the foundation of Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing, leading to a gaping knowledge as a bottomless funnel. No matter how much knowledge poured into the funnel, it just flows out, retaining nothing.

Listed above are the two main reasons why you have been learning English for a long time without progressing or progressing too slowly compared to your desire. Come to WS, we are ready to support you to be good at English as you wish. The reason is that WS provides the best and continuous English environment, helps you solve “problem 1”, and teaches you the best way, helps you handle “problem 2”. When both of these problems are solved, you can speak English fluently like a native!

What program should I study when I first started learning English?

Choosing and learning the right level of English is very important because if you study a program that is too hard or too high compared to your ability, it will lead to boredom, fear, and giving up. And if you learn a program which is too easy compared to your ability, you feel like you know everything already, leading to subjectivity, complacency, boredom, and finally, you still fail and give up.

Therefore, WS pays great attention to checking the entry-level for all students to be able to advise and arrange the most reasonable class and suitable for the student’s actual level. Experts, lecturers, and professional inspection system at WS can afford to do this very well. Coming to WS, you will never have to sit in the wrong class with the wrong level again. All you need to do is just focus on studying to improve.

In addition, all curricula at WS are upgraded and updated continuously. You will always learn the latest and most advanced textbooks.
